Tofranil is used for treating depression. It is also used in some children to help reduce bedwetting. It can also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How Taken

Use Tofranil as directed by your doctor. Take Tofranil, with or without food. When Tofranil at bedtime may help reduce side effects (eg, daytime drowsiness). Discuss this possibility with your doctor. It may take 1-3 weeks before you notice an effect of Tofranil. Continue to use Tofranil even if you feel well.

Warnings / Precautions

The dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up a missed dose.

Side effects

Some possible side effects, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, excitement, headache, impotence, nausea, nightmares, pupil dilation, and sensitivity to sunlight, sweating, fatigue, stomach pain , vomiting, weakness, weight loss or gain. Contact your doctor if any of these or other side effects.

Storage

Overdose
